GraphoGame is Making Waves!

We’re thrilled to announce that the GraphoGame App is now empowering dozens of schools across Jamaica as a trusted tool for early literacy development.

Since we first gifted the app in August 2021, GraphoGame has reached over 8,000 downloads and is now used in more than 50 schools. Many of these schools—especially those supporting struggling readers—have reported noticeable gains in phonemic awareness and word recognition.

Educators are raving about its impact, with many integrating the app into their daily literacy routines. Even more exciting, some schools are already seeing early signs of improved reading scores among students who use GraphoGame consistently.

Proof That Partnership Works

We’re also proud to share that Quickstep and Springvale Primary, two rural schools we’ve supported over the past three years, have officially been removed from the Ministry of Education’s “critical” list. Even more inspiring—100% of their students are now proficient in literacy and numeracy.

This success is a direct result of committed educators, engaged families, and the steady support of partners like you. Through teacher training, early screenings, Summer Fun Reading Camps, and tools like the UNESCO-awarded GraphoGame App, these communities have shown what’s possible when the right resources reach the right hands.

Thank You

This incredible progress wouldn’t be possible without your support. Together, we’re shaping brighter futures through literacy—let’s keep the momentum going.

Serious Fun, Real Results: GraphoGame Joins Forces with PAF (Preventative Academic Failure)

Even more exciting is the progress we’re seeing in pilot schools that are using GraphoGame alongside the PAF Reading Intervention Program. This combination — direct, multisensory instruction through PAF, reinforced with the engaging, independent practice offered by GraphoGame — is helping to close reading gaps in foundational years. Teachers report stronger engagement, more confident readers, and early signs of long-term progress.

These school visits will continue into the next academic year as we work to reach more communities and strengthen literacy outcomes across the island.

Huge thanks to Give Back Jamaica for their incredible collaboration!

WWKIDS Read Across Jamaica Week – May 5–12

What a week to remember! From May 5 to 12, the WWKIDS team hit the road for Read Across Jamaica Week, bringing the joy of reading to nearly 2,000 children across more than a dozen schools in Clarendon, Kingston & St. Andrew, Manchester, and St. Catherine.

We journeyed through winding roads, over hillsides lush with greenery, taking in some of the island’s most beautiful scenery. At every stop, we were welcomed with open arms, big smiles, and eager listeners. Schools were buzzing with anticipation, and though we faced a few technical hiccups along the way, the energy, warmth, and even the delicious lunches more than made up for it!

We’re deeply grateful to the amazing authors who joined us — Geoffrey Philp, Diane Riley, and Kerry-Ann Willis — for lighting up classrooms and libraries with stories that inspired and connected with the children. Whether in person or joining virtually, they made their books come alive in ways that will stay with us all.

Huge thanks to Give Back Jamaica for their incredible collaboration!

Thanks to community supporter sponsors — Konnexx Services, Marc Corporate Uniforms, and Kozy Korner N More Books — for making this week possible.

And of course, to the schools that invited us in: thank you for believing in the power of literacy and giving us the chance to share it with your children. This was more than a reading tour — it was a celebration of stories, connection, and the promise of brighter futures through books. Watch here highlights

Weekly Virtual Peer Reading – Read-Aloud Sessions

Weekly Virtual Peer Reading – Read-Aloud Sessions

Every Wednesday and on select Saturdays, students from our partner schools and youth football club gathered for read-aloud sessions that brought stories to life. From tales with moral lessons to those highlighting culture and the environment, each session offered something meaningful.

Older students joined via Zoom to read to their younger peers, creating a wonderful bond through storytelling. This simple initiative has sparked renewed excitement about reading. Teachers have shared how students are now more engaged in class and look forward to the next story with growing enthusiasm.

A heartfelt thank you to our incredibly patient high school readers—John, Leo, Sophia, Thanos, Kieren, Kai, Woody- NY, Bishop -CT, and Ford- MA—who showed unwavering commitment, even when we faced internet challenges and power outages. Your dedication continues to inspire us.
